Jill Nexon Berman has more than 20 years of experience in commercial, construction and intellectual property litigation. Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Business Litigation, Ms. Berman is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She is also a Certified Civil Mediator.
Ms. Berman is a member of the Miami-Dade County and Massachusetts Bar Associations, The Florida Bar, and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She is also a member (and former chair) of the Advisory Committee on Rules and Procedures, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida, which is responsible for proposing and drafting changes to the rules of that court.
Ms. Berman is admitted to practice in Florida and Massachusetts; the United States District Courts of all three Florida districts; the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit; and the United States Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit.
In 1978, Ms. Berman graduated, cum laude, from Boston College with a Juris Doctorate. She received her B.A. degree from Smith College in 1975. As part of Miami-Dade County's Put Something Back program, Ms. Berman provides pro bono services in her area of expertise to a few clients a year who otherwise cannot afford legal advice.
Originally from Boston, Ms. Berman lives in Pinecrest and has been a resident of Miami since 1978. Founding partner Neil Berman is her husband, and they have two sons. In her spare time, Ms. Berman enjoys running, reading and dining out.
